The weather for this beginning of fall was absolutely fantastic today. This day out with the GOBG started at the Réserve Naturelle de Laconnex. We only spotted a few birds while in the reserve, so we then walked along the fields of the area, and the morning ended being quite rich in nice sightings.

Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus)

I even had the chance to see a lifer : the Greater Whitethroat (Sylvia communis)!

Finally, after the excursion ended, a friend and I went to one more spot by the Rhône river before heading home, and we spotted a few more species including a fabulous Eurasian Sparrowhawk (Accipiter nisus) hovering right above our heads!
