Birding in Orange County : Laguna Niguel Regional Park 28.12.15

Another opportunity to go birding at the Laguna Niguel Regional Park! With less than an hour available, I decided to stay at one spot by the lake and simply watch the birds nearby.

American Coot (Fulica americana)

American Coot (Fulica americana)

Here is the list of the 10 bird species I spotted at the Laguna Niguel Regional Park:

American Coot (Fulica americana)
Black Phoebe (Sayornis nigricans)
Cassin's Kingbird (Tyrannus vociferans)
Downy Woodpecker (Dryobates pubescens)
Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodias)
Red-shouldered Hawk (Buteo lineatus)
Red-winged Blackbird (Agelaius phoeniceus)
Ruddy Duck (Oxyura jamaicensis)
Scaly-breasted Munia (Lonchura punctulata)
Song Sparrow (Melospiza melodia)

Staying longer always brings many more bird species. This regional park is a real hotspot for birders and I try to go there as often as possible.

Love Nature.
