The Black-headed Ibis (Threskiornis melanocephalus) breeds in Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent. It is found mainly in wetlands, whether it is on the coast on inland. I spotted this one and a few more in a marshy area located near Varkala, only a few meters from the beach. A stunning patch of nature filled with many species of birds where I tried to spend as much time as I could while in Varkala. It was a magical place and I hope it will remain untouched for many more years.
