Here is a beautiful Common Murre (Uria aalge) with its chick, spotted from the ferry on the way to Islay. These birds come to land only to nest. They breed in colonies on cliffs, islands and rocky shores. It is mid-august and this Common Murre (Uria aalge) along with its chick are already back to the ocean where they will spend the rest of the year, feeding on fish. The Common Murre (Uria aalge) is also named Common Guillemot or just Guillemot.

Love Nature.
