Lac Bénit
Lac Bénit is a small mountain lake located at the bottom of the Bargy, at 1452m of altitude, in Mont-Saxonnex, France. The hike is short and easy, and highly recommendable for everyone.
The hike starts with a breathtaking view of the church of the village. It then goes through stunning prairies bordered by forest patches of conifers.
The way up is easy and very enjoyable.
We had the chance to spot a magnificient butterfly for the first time : the Swallowtail. It flew right over me so I decided to watch it until I could and see if it would land at some point. For our great pleasure, it did, and then let us enjoy its unbelievable colors and details for about 10 minutes. A memorable moment for sure.
It always feels so good when an animal gives you enough time to really look at it and fully enjoy it.
When you reach the top you can see the lake right down below.
It is a great hike that I wish to do again at a different time of the day, and also on different seasons.
Love Nature.
