Malabar Grey Hornbill (Ocyceros griseus)
Even if the bird stayed up in the trees, the sighting of this Malabar Grey Hornbill (Ocyceros griseus) was a great experience. What a beautiful bird! Its massive bill and large wings are really impressive, even though it is a mid-sized hornbill. The Malabar Grey Hornbill (Ocyceros griseus) is endemic to Southern India, and fairly common in Kerala. It feeds on figs and other forest fruits, which makes this species a fantastic seed dispersal agent.
Love Nature.
