For my first visit at the San Joaquin Wildlife Sanctuary, I was delighted to spot two males and a female Northern Red Bishop (Euplectes franciscanus) on Pond E. Their flight is pretty unique and really fun to watch, and the orange plumage of the male (not really red at all) is absolutely stunning.
