The Red-whiskered Bulbul (Pycnonotus jocosus) is my favorite species of bulbul, at least among the ones I have seen :). I think it is an amazing looking bird, and its song is beautiful. This picture shows very well its red face patch, as well as its tall pointed black crest. Very common bird in the area of the Thattekad Bird Sanctuary, it is a resident frugivore feeding also on nectar and insects.

Love Nature.
