Juvenile Western Gull (Larus occidentalis) off Dana Point, California. December 2015. Not baited. Not called in.

The image above shows a juvenile Western Gull (Larus occidentalis) spotted from a boat off Dana Point, California. It was following our boat closely, inspecting it with great attention, hoping to find some food. It even lands on the boat at some point. The Western Gulls (Larus occidentalis) as well as other gull species do the same with fishing boats. Unfortunately, it did not find any food on our boat :)
