The White-cheeked Barbet (Megalaima viridis) is endemic to the Western Ghats. It is mainly frugivore and quite difficult to spot when not in flight. They perch upright and rarely leave the trees. I had the chance to see several individuals during my 2 days stay in the region of Munnar, including one going out of a tree cavity, possibly its nest.

Love Nature.
