This is quite a funny and relevant birding story. On the last day of our christmas trip in California. My wife and I were driving, and I really wanted to stop one last time to the Laguna Niguel Regional Park. But she did not feel the same way. She had errands to do and wanted us to be together. I concealed, happy to be with her but disappointed not to see more birds. Birding at the Laguna Niguel Regional Park is always such a great experience, I just wanted more! On our way to Target in Aliso Viejo, we stopped at a light when I looked right and saw an unusal bird (for me) on top of the tallest tree of the area. It was a White-tailed Kite (Elanus leucurus)!! A first for me. I was delighted!

Long story short, listen to your wife and keep your eyes open :)

Love Nature.
