White-throated Dippers (Cinclus cinclus) are fascinating birds to watch. Living in perfect harmony with rivers, they find their food on the river banks but also in the water. Sometimes they just dip their head, sometimes they actually swim in the water with their body fully submerged. Their very short wings are a testimony of this spectacular adaptation.

A fantastic detail about White-throated Dippers that I got to see for the first time in 2016 is that their eyelids are white. How beautiful!
