Malabar Parakeet (Psittacula columboides) in Thattekad Bird Sanctuary, Kerala, India. February 2015. Not baited. Not called in.

Above is the first parakeet I have seen during this trip to Kerala : the Malabar Parakeet (Psittacula columboides). It is endemic to the Western Ghats of southern India. The red beak is distinctive to males. A very good looking bird even though the picture above is really bad.
