Pied Kingfisher (Ceryle rudis)

Pied Kingfishers (Ceryle rudis) in Thattekad Bird Sanctuary, Kerala, India. February 2015. Not baited. Not called in.

For my first sighting of the Pied Kingfisher (Ceryle rudis), I had the great chance to see a couple, both the male and the female, with the male fishing and offering the fish to the female. The moment was way better than the picture! :) We can see them on a wire hanging over the Periyar River.
