Tawny Owl (Strix aluco)
Tawny Owl (Strix aluco) in Canton of Genève, Switzerland. May 2016. Not baited. Not called in.
The most common owl in Switzerland is a stunning bird. Its plumage is mainly brown above and paler underneath. I really like the whitish feathers between its haunting black eyes. Owls have their eyes placed at the front of the head, just like humans.
