White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) in Vechoor, Kerala, India. February 2015. Not baited. Not called in.

The White-throated Kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis) is pretty common and easy to spot in Kerala. I have seen this one from a small boat during a morning birding cruise. Its colors are unbelievable. It is such a beautiful bird.
